Featuring stupendous views of the spectacular Samui coastline, this luxurious property provides a tranquil escape for holidaymakers looking a hidden island paradise

Thanks to its lofty hillside location, Baan Silavaree boasts incredible views of Samui’s scenic coastline

A secluded hillside location and spectacular views across Koh Samui’s idyllic southern coastline make Baan Silavaree one of the island’s most sought-after holiday properties. The villa benefits from its position within the exclusive Santhikiri Estate in the southwestern part of the island – a sought-after area that has become popular amongst well-heeled, discerning travellers. Situated a stone’s throw from the soft sand of Laem Set beach, Baan Silavaree provides a tropical hilltop escape for those looking to get away. This spectacular private villa is a short drive from Taling Ngam beach, a laid-back paradise on the southern edge of Samui. Popular Lamai beach is just 20 minutes to the north for guests that want to make the most of Samui’s excellent range of beaches.

Stylish entrance

Guests step through a decorative archway and into the property’s grounds

The stylish design and luxurious setting at Baan Silavaree are evident from the moment you step foot onto the property’s grounds. Entering via a decorative archway into beautifully landscaped ground, you are greeted with a warm welcome from the villa’s team of helpful staff. Refreshing chilled drinks are ready and waiting for you, providing the perfect pick-me-up after a long journey. The staff can also take care of your luggage, so you can settle into relaxation mode from the moment you arrive.

Guided tour

With accommodation spread across several pavilions, the clever design of Baan Silavaree responds directly to the hillside plot

After you’ve had some time to settle in, a friendly member of staff will be able to show you around the property, outlining all of the fantastic facilities you can make use of. The layout of this striking property responds directly to the hilltop position of the plot, and the Thai-style architecture has been designed in order to make the most of the magnificent vistas.

Guests can look forward to unwinding in elegant surroundings, which are infused with a contemporary, yet traditional Thai feel at the same time. A strong sense of traditional Thai wow factor is achieved via the use of thick teakwood beams and redwood balconies. Eye-catching Indonesian Batak doors provide another striking focal feature to complement the traditional Southeast Asian vibes.

An eclectic array of imported pieces – including a selection of contemporary pieces of art – infuses the space with authenticity. For example, Tibetan furniture, Balinese burled teak wood coffee tables and a Portuguese slate centre island lend the interiors an alluring aesthetic appeal. Plush furnishings, sisal rugs and bespoke sofas also complement the space to ensure it feels homely and welcoming from the moment you walk in. Sliding doors in the main living area and expansive swathes of glazing in each of the bedrooms draw natural light inside, as well as allowing occupants to make the most of the glorious sea views.

First-rate facilities

Baan Silavaree is home to two standalone bedroom pavilions, each of which features its own mezzanine sleeping area plus a private sunken lounge

A stunning vaulted living space with a thatched ceiling forms the central hub of the property, providing exquisite surroundings in which guests can relax. In fact, the property provides around 55m2 of living space in total, so there’s plenty of space to spread out. There’s also half an acre of private land for those that wish to explore outdoor areas. The fully equipped kitchen also features its own Nespresso coffee machine – perfect for your morning coffee overlooking the ocean.

A two-storey building houses the main accommodation, providing an open-plan living and dining area in addition to three king size guest bedrooms – all with ensuite bathrooms – upstairs.  There are also two standalone structures outside the main villa housing further sleeping quarters – perfect if you’re travelling as part of a large group. Each of these pavilions is home to four-poster beds within mezzanine bedrooms overlooking private lounge areas. These private parlours of relaxation feature 3.5m sliding glazed doors, so guests can wake up to fantastic ocean views. These private suites are also fully equipped with TVs, DVD players, mini fridges, plus coffee and tea making facilities.

Sensational service

There are three full time members of staff at Baan Silavaree, and the services of a Thai chef are available upon request

At Baan Silavaree, service is second to none. From the moment guests arrive at the property they can be sure that the villa’s dedicated team of staff will do their utmost to attend to all their needs.

The full-time team of staff includes a live-in couple and a daily maid, and it’s their job to ensure the property remains spic and span throughout your stay. The villa manager is also able to assist in organising various activities and excursions around the island.

If you’re keen to enjoy your meals within the stunning al fresco dining area rather than heading out to restaurants each evening, you can request the services of a professional Thai chef. You’ll be able to work with the villa manager to put together a daily menu for the private chef to prepare in the villa’s kitchen. Plus, if you fancy getting a massage, the villa manager will also be able to arrange for a professional spa therapist to come to the property, so you can enjoy the luxurious spa experience without even having to leave the house.

For those travelling with children, baby-sitting services can be arranged. A Toyota Fortuner SUV and driver are also available upon request.

Al fresco attractions

The private swimming pool and terrace is the perfect place to sit and soak up the incredible views with your morning cup of coffee

Outside, a private 12m saltwater infinity pool surrounded by imported limestone decking boasts gorgeous views of the ocean. There’s also an outdoor barbecue, kitchen and bar for al fresco dining and parties.

Thanks to its position within the Santhikiri Estate, Baan Silavaree benefits from a selection of community facilities as well as its own private amenities. These include 24/7 security staff, a common area swimming pool and a yoga sala.

MOST MEMORABLE FEATURE: Spa-like bathing facilities

Guests keen to enjoy a luxury, spa-like experience can book to have a spa therapist come to the villa for a private pamper session. This can be followed up with a long, soothing soak in one of the villa’s stunning bathing suites. Each of the bathrooms features a sunken bath for two, plus indoor and outdoor walk-in showers. A feeling of opulence is achieved via the addition of imported limestone mosaic tiles, imported slate or limestone floors, plus lavish teak vanity counters and cabinets. Many of these exquisite bathing zones also feature marvellous views over the ocean.
