Villa Name: La Villa Rouge at Sai Taan
The West coast of Phuket offers the ultimate lifestyle for a great holiday or weekend retreat. Conveniently located at the entrance to Laguna’s Five Star Resort Complex, La Villa Rouge offers easy access to golf courses, stunning beaches, international standard restaurants, yet only 15 minutes from the airport.
La Villa Rouge is part of the Sai Taan (or Banyan and Palm Tree in Thai) private estate. La Villa Rouge is a luxury villa with four bedrooms, a separate lounge, dining room, spacious kitchen and servants’ quarters. The villa has a 10 metre private swimming pool with a Jacuzzi, outdoor master bathroom, pool side Sala, and outside bar area.
The main attraction of La Villa Rouge is its complete privacy. Once you have walked through the main gate and closed it behind you, you begin your holiday of a lifetime in your own haven.
La Villa Rouge is Thai style with contemporary modern interior design and fixtures. The villa has been designed to combine the function of a modern home with an easy flow between indoor and outdoor, enabling open living. Design influences evoke the light and elegance of traditional Northern Thai architecture with pitched roofs over major living areas. All rooms open on to the pool, the centre of the house, via concertina glass and hardwood doors.
The villa contains a main living space comprising a kitchen, a dining room and a living room and three bedrooms, including a magnificent Master Suite, with pitched ceiling and an adjoining air-conditioned spa/massage room, with outside sunken bath. All other bedrooms have en suite facilities.
The fourth bedroom is part of a fully self-contained Garden Suite. The Garden Suite has a separate bathroom, fridge, tea/coffee making facilities as well as flat screen TV and DVD. There is an additional internet point in this Suite.
Guests traveling with their own nanny or helper can also use the maid’s quarter with separate bathroom and toilet which can accommodate up to two persons.
The Villa is serviced by a professional maid who can line in or out, upon the Guests requests.
The tropical atmosphere of the villa is prominent through a huge central living area, comprising a breakfast bar, dining room and living room with pitched ceiling that overlooks the terrace, pool and gardens. The concertina glass doors running the length of this area open directly onto the pool terrace thus creating a special ambiance for entertaining your family and guests.
Guest have plenty of choice of where to dine, in or outside. There are three main areas for eating. A formal dining table in the dining room next to the kitchen, is popular for dinner parties and family eating. However, the climate in Thailand means that people can also enjoy eating at the 8 seater dining table by the pool; while children love to eat at the breakfast bar or in the Sala.
Finally, there is a separate outside bar area with seating for 3 persons, overlooking the pool. The bar has a fully-stocked fridge and La Villa Rouge’s maid can organize a barman to assist at any time for those long lazy afternoons!
Resting is a key activity at La Villa Rouge! The Sala is a favorite place for a massage, reflexology or just to enjoy a good book or magazine! There is a fan and wooden blinds for those moments when you want to escape the sun and relax!

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Villa Rouge where we had a much anticipated Christmas rendez-vous with our UK relatives and I have to say my expectations were surpassed on every level. We are 2 families both with young children (ages 1-7)and after initial anxieties about the fenceless swimming pool and deciding who would sleep where I'm pleased to say we survived the pool and had a truly wonderful holiday, thanks especially to gorgeous Sano who looked after us so well and was the perfect host with plenty of wonderful advice not to mention yummy food! A couple of helpful points about the villa... it is in a wonderful part of Phuket, Bang Tao beach was a pleasant surprise for this Aussie girl with uncrowded clean sand and not-too-hot water, but note it is a short drive from the villa to the beach and we decided upon arrival to hire an additional rental car so we could get around easily. It was also handy to have the cars so we could explore up and down the coast a bit. We had some good meals out at many of the Thai restaurants on the beach but as mentioned by others on these pages the best Thai food was to be had in the villa cooked fresh by Sano according to our requests. For a change we did enjoy cocktails, pizza and pasta at Catch club in Surin. The villa is well equipped for babies and small children (apart from the pool!!) and even has a baby seat for the car. Note that the 4th bedroom is quite a long way from the other rooms with the pool in between so more suitable for older children or couples. We also enjoyed a morning at the Laguna Beach Resort with it;s huge pools with slide and baby elephant wandering around and the kids also had a day in the kids club there.. babysitting also easily arranged with Sano as an extra. All in all our stay was better than I had thought possible and I would recommend it highly as the perfect place to relax with friends or family, we certainly hope to return in the coming years.
We have just returned from a week at Villa Rouge. We are a family of 4, and our friends came with us with their 3 children. The children's ages ranged between 4 and 7 years. It was perfect. 4 bedrooms, all with on-suite and 3 with a bath. The villa was beautiful, it catered for all our needs and of course Sano (the maid) was fantastic. We were really spoilt, with breakfast made for us and lunch on the days we were there. We also had dinner cooked by the chef that is available and a bbq one night too. The villa was clean and our laundry taken care of if we required it. The villa is situated in the Laguna Resort area, so very easy to venture out to the beach or restaurants in the area. The beach isn't on your doorstep but once you walk out you can "hop" on one of the many Laguna shuttle buses to save little ones legs. We went on an Elephant trek and chartered a boat one day, both of which were organized by Sano for us. Sano also organized a driver when we went out to dinner a couple of times and she looked after the children for us. (Babysitting is an additional fee, but very reasonable and the kids loved Sano). The pool isn't fenced, but this wasn't an issue for our families. The villa is set out very well, it has internet access, wireless available, tv and DVD player and a docking station for your ipod with outdoor speakers as well. The kitchen has a microwave, dishwasher etc and everything you really need, but it was so nice not to have to worry about cooking and cleaning! We all had a fabulous time, very relaxing, beautiful villa and we are hoping to return again next year!
We spent 2 weeks at la villa rouge over Christmas and new year, with our family, all are adults. The villa itself was amazing the pictures on the website don't even do it justice, the pool and garden area is huge! We were looked after by a lady named Porn, and she was fantastic, and very sweet, we were very sad to leave her, her breakfast omlette was delicious. The villa is very private and extremely quiet, once you close the villa doors you're in your own little oasis. It was a 15 to 20min walk to bang tao beach so we enjoyed our morning walks, though on very hot days Porn would organize a tuk tuk for us (when we asked her to.) Although it's not on the beach, there are some fantastic restaurants a short (5 min) walk from the villa in the town, and it was also easy to walk or tuk tuk to Bang tao beach at night to go to the restaurants on the beach. There is a free laguna shuttle which takes you part of the way to the beach if you want to use it. And we had a chef called Puk come and cook christmas dinner for us in the villa, and it was great! The rooms were all a good size, the twin room was a tad smaller but it didn't make any difference to us really... We would go back in a heartbeat!
What better way to spend a reunion with friends and the making of new freindships than talking a group to Villa Rouge. Styly surrounding and wonderful serivce made this a top holiday. Everything was arranged with ease .... whether connecting at a local level for a market meal or to going to Relais & Chateaux's 360 deg bar. The rooms were beautiful & this was a super restful holiday. Villas are set in the Sai-Taan gardens a stones throw from the Laguna Resort area. Certainly beats being in Patong if you want to be more serene. Oh and pedicures or massages arranged everyday at the villa if you wanted to be lush. It was all super reasonable even for a few of us on the Kiwi dollar. Thank you so much Villa Rouge! Art work was gorgeous too.
