Langkawi Shopping

Wooden goods,traditional clothing and jewellery

Due to its duty free status, Langkawi is a regional shopping hub offering both local and international brands. Most of the island's shopping centres and markets are located in and around the economic centre of Kuah where visitors will find malls selling duty free goods at extra favourable prices. Products range from clothing, arts and furniture but electronics can also be found here at discounted prices.

The area around Padang Matsirat does not have many duty free shopping malls like Kuah but instead is the centre of Batik and handicrafts such as wooden goods and traditional clothing and jewellery The Atma Alam Batik Village is a local village specialising in batik and visitors can buy locally designed batik prints at affordable prices. The street to the Field of Burnt Rice is lined with hawker stalls where good bargains can be made on souvenirs or locally produced artefacts
