Koh Samui Adventure Activities

Samui is celebrated for its tranquil beaches, elegant restaurants and plush spas. However, the island also has plenty to offer visitors in search of a more thrilling activities that will get the blood pumping and the pulse rate racing. From physical pursuits including hikes and mountain biking to daredevil activities like zip lining and ATV riding, Samui has something to suit all tastes for adventure.

Samui Canopy Rides

For visitors in search of a way to explore Samui’s lush, emerald jungle Canopy Adventures is the perfect adventure. Intrepid explorers rocket through the jungle at heights of 40m, dangling from cables that connects a series of wooden platforms perched atop the forest canopy. The treetop platforms provide excellent views and a fantastic chance for visitors to get up close with nature in the island’s tropical surroundings. With such dazzling views, this adrenaline-pumping activity is also popular with photographers who want to capture Samui from a whole new perspective.

Samui ATV Rides

Visitors who don’t have the energy for a long trek through the jungle may prefer a whistle-stop tour of the island’s interior on the back of an ATV (All Terrain Vehicle), also known as a Quad Bike. These powerful machines are ideal for exploring the nooks and crannies of the island that can’t necessarily be accessed by car. However, it should be remembered that with all the jumps and bumps on the off-road tracks, an afternoon of ATV riding isn’t for the faint of heart. With ATV Samui, a typical two-hour tour package includes an ATV ride through the jungle, a dip in the famous Namuang Waterfall and even a short elephant trek.

Samui Safari Tours

For visitors looking to explore Samui’s stunning tropical scenery without speeding around on an ATV, a jungle safari is ideal. Most of the island’s best natural attractions can also be reached in a four by four jeep that has enough power to scale some of the island’s peaks. Jungle safari packages generally include elephant trekking and a visit to one of the island’s stunning waterfalls. Cultural activities are also included for those who like to mix their day up with a range of diverse activities, and often the programme includes going to local villages to learn more about day to day life and culture.

Samui Go Karting

Channel your inner Lewis Hamilton and feel the wind in your hair as you zoom around the track at Samui Go Kart in Bophut. Beginners and children start their session off in fun karts, which can reach speeds of up to 40km per hour. More experienced riders will be allocated karts that can travel up to 75km per hour. However, serious speed junkies in the 25HP karts can whip around the track at an impressive 125km per hour. Safety comes first, however, and each kart is kitted out with a seat belt, and helmets must be worn by all drivers.
