Koh Samui for Kids

Travellers heading to Koh Samui in search of pristine tropical coastline and plush beach clubs will not be disappointed – however, the island has plenty more to offer, particularly when it comes to pleasing kids. In addition to family afternoons playing games on the beach, Koh Samui boasts a wide range of attractions and activities that little ones will love, from exhilarating go kart races to brain puzzle attractions like Samui’s Escapology lounge

Samui Zip-Line Rides

For families looking to explore all the hidden nooks and crannies Koh Samui has to offer, a trip to the heart of the jungle can provide an afternoon of excitement – particularly when the views are being enjoyed from 40 metres up in the forest canopy. Adults and kids can rocket through the jungle via a network of zip wires that connect an array of treetop platforms.

Samui Escape Game

Real-life puzzle escape rooms are all the rage across the globe, and Samui is well up to speed with this latest trend. Ideal for older children (age nine and above) on an afternoon away from the beach or pool, The Escape Hunt Experience is situated in Chaweng and Escapology is in Lamai. Families are locked in a room for one hour and have to follow clues from the surroundings and those picked up from the game itself in order to get out. Also a great activity for building teamwork skills.

Samui Safari

Thailand’s exotic surroundings are ripe for exploration, and for curious little ones that want to see as much of the Kingdom as possible a jungle safari offers plenty of fun. If your children are animal lovers, this exciting opportunity also offers the chance for them to glimpse some animals, including elephants. A variety of packages are available on the island, with some including baby elephant shows and waterfall trips as part of the itinerary.

Samui Waterparks

There are few places kids can let loose and burn all that extra holiday excitement and energy better than at a water park. Situated in Lamai, the Coco Splash Adventure & Water Park covers a vast area of 10,000 m2 and is packed with fun activities for little ones to try – from bumper boats to bungee trampolines. For children that prefer to play in the ocean, Samui also boasts two beachside aqua parks in Chaweng and Bophut. An array of inflatable pyramids, bridges and trampolines are scattered just off shore for adults and children to enjoy. Safety is, of course, the main consideration at both parks so all players must wear life jackets before taking the plunge.

Samui Go Karting

If you’re on holiday with thrill-seeking children, then a trip to Koh Samui’s Go Kart tracks in Bophut offers the perfect chance to let them release their inner racing drivers. Beginners and children start the day off in fun go karts, which can attain speeds of up to 40km per hour on the 500 metre track. For older kids or those with a bit more go karting experience, there are larger karts which can hit speeds of up to 75km or 125 km per hour. Like Samui’s other family attractions, safety is the first priority, so all karts are fitted with seat belts and drivers wear protective helmets.

Samui Crazy Golf

For families that fancy an afternoon away from the sea and sand, a session at Chaweng’s Crazy Golf course can be a lot of fun. A wealth of features throughout the well-designed nine-hole course will entertain little ones – and adults for that matter. The course can be found behind The Islander pub in central Chaweng.
