Thailand activities

Full of tourist attractions

Thailand has a wealth of activities and adventures to suit everyone's taste. The south is known for its beautiful waters and stunning beaches. Snorkelling, diving, kayaking, jet skiing and swimming are among the most popular activities here, while some areas such as Khao Lak and Samui also feature mysterious caves and impressive waterfalls. In the north, the vast tropical jungle offers ample opportunity for some adventurous trekking, while the hilly landscape is great for mountain biking, rock climbing and white water rafting.

In Bangkok, historic temples and bustling markets make sure visitors are never bored. The weekend market, the largest covered market in South East Asia, is open every Saturday and Sunday attracting thousands of tourists and locals throughout the day. Clothing, arts furniture, jewellery, animals, interior décor are all for display and sale here and the market's many food stalls serving delicious Thai food and snacks make sure no one leaves hungry. The area around Banglamphu in the old part of Bangkok is also full of tourist attractions, such as the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Wat Arun, the infamous Khao San Road and many others. As a relatively new attraction, a number of tour operators have started offering cycling tours around the area to see as many attractions as possible.

Golf is also a popular pass time for visitors from around the world and Thailand boasts some of the most impressive world class golf courses in the world. Santiburi Country Club on Samui is a unique hillside course with spectacular views of the ocean, while over on Phuket the Blue Canyon Golf and Country Club has hosted several international tournaments, welcoming some of the world's top golfers to compete on its lush, green fairways.
