Thailand shopping

Traditional village artefacts and international luxury brands

Shopping in Thailand offers something for everyone. Whether visitors are looking for traditional village artefacts, international luxury brands, or trendy design from country's many hip fashion designers, Thailand has it all.

The capital's largest shopping malls are mostly located along Sukhumvit Road, from Siam where Paragon, Siam Center, MBK and Siam Discovery are all located to Phrom Phong where Emporium offers high end international fashiona. Siam also boasts Siam Square which is an area full of small streets where Thai designers are showcasing their newest creations. The area is popular amongst university students and hipsters alike. The newest addition to Bangkok's already numerous malls is Terminal 21 located at Asok intersection. It's a theme mall inspired by an airport and each floor is decorated so it looks like a country, for example Japan, England or Italy.

Further north, in the provinces of Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, visitors can buy traditional artefacts produced by the many hill tribe villages in the region. Traditional silks and wooden crafts dominate but local art and furniture also feature prominently. In the south on the island's beach vendors, shipping streets and malls also offer the full range of retail treasures, making any holiday in Thailand a happy blend of relaxation and retail therapy.
